Bedre byggeskik II

Just north of Copenhagen stands a Danish Bedre byggeskik house, originally built in 1928. Both the facades and interiors have been carefully restored, preserving the home’s historic character.

The house has had only a few owners before its current occupants took over in 2024. Over the years, some updates were made, including a new roof, new windows with skylights, and refurbished bathroom and kitchen spaces.

After several visits and thorough research in the archives, we concluded that the house required minimal intervention to welcome a new family. Our focus was primarily on the exterior, approached with care and a restoration-minded philosophy.

The facades were rendered in a warm white, while the windows were replaced and a few additional ones introduced. The roof was renewed with tiles in a soft red hue, and all woodwork was treated with linseed oil, preserving the home’s authentic charm.
